Ownership

NW Systems Group Limited is privately owned by shareholding by founding members Robert Kilgour, Kevin Bowyer and Frank Crouwel.

Our US arm Network Webcams (US), Inc. is a subsidiary wholly owned by NW Systems Group Limited.

Robert Kilgour, Non-executive director

Is a successful Scottish entrepreneur living in London with involvement in the IP video market since 1999. Amongst many other activities and interests, Robert has served on the CBI Scottish Council, CBI UK SME Council and the Scottish Growing Business Forum. He is a member of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, Institute of Directors, Association of Project Managers and he is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. Robert was Chairman of the Fife Macmillan Cancer Project (1993-95), a public appeal which raised £1.75M towards improving hospice provision in Fife in Scotland. He has recently donated £50,000 to help establish a Macmillan Cancer Information Centre at a London hospital to mark his 50th birthday. Read more about Robert.

Frank Crouwel, Managing director

Originally from a legal consultancy background, Frank has been involved with the CCTV industry since 1999. As managing director of CCTV equipment manufacturer Charles Grant Ltd, Frank turned a loss-making company into a rapidly expanding and profitable firm within the space of two years, growing export sales from zero to 40% of turnover. During this period Frank sealed OEM contracts with leading manufacturers Panasonic, Axis Communications, Vicon Industries and GE Interlogix. He secured a €1,2m EU subsidy for the company's R&D programme and successfully led the resulting project partnership involving eight high-tech companies from five different European countries. In 2003, Frank joined IP video company Evolve as Business Development Manager to oversee the firm's expansion UK wide. It was at Evolve were Frank met Robert and Kevin, which resulted in the inception of today's NW Systems Group. Frank has a track record of implementing successful strategies within the security industry and is broadly skilled in the area of IP video.

Kevin Bowyer, Technical director

Kevin has built-up hands-on experience with IP video implementations and application development dating back to 1999. He started working in the Internet industry in the mid 1990's, building websites for Scoot UK. Kevin then became senior designer, helping to build Scoot's large web team and e-commerce proposition before moving into IP video in 1999. As Web Director at Evolve, Kevin spearheaded the technical development and delivery of the company's professional IP video product range, including video streaming and hosted video services. Together with Robert and Frank, Kevin founded the now NW Systems Group in 2004 and has been instrumental for the technical development of the company. Over the years, Kevin has built up a huge amount of experience and knowledge of IP video, camera technologies and hosted video solutions.

Greg Innes, Technical manager

Self-confessed geek, Greg has an affinity with everything IT. Graduated in 2003 with a BSc in Multimedia Greg's wide range of skills soon got him involved with local new media businesses, television production companies and IT projects for clients such as Channel 4, Ikea and John Lewis.

Greg joined NW Systems Group in 2006 where his broad skill set has been instrumental in the company's early growth. With years of accumulated experience in IP video Greg has developed in to the technical lead of NW's installations arm. As technical manager he is responsible for supervising the system design process, installation delivery and maintenance provision to our wide-ranging customer base.

Richard Lewis, Systems sales manager

Richard has been involved in the CCTV industry since 1997, having spent several years in the brown goods industry on graduating with a Bachelors Degree in electronics. His time at Multi-Video Distribution Ltd, as a technical support engineer allowed Richard to apply his skills to attain a firm and solid understanding of the technology before progressing his career as sales account manager at Video Imaging Supplies (VIS), one of the first companies to embrace IP video in the UK.

Richard initiated and developed the company's IP video division, EthernetCCTV.com, to 20% of turnover. VIS' reputation in this emerging market sector didn't go unnoticed and the business was sold to Norbain SD Ltd in 2001. Richard continued to develop the market and as IP product manager at Norbain, sealed distribution agreements with several of today's leading manufactures such as, Axis Communications, Bosch and Indigo Vision. In 2004, Richard joined Sony UK in the role of CCTV product manager to oversee Sony's re-engagement with the UK security market.

We welcomed Richard to NW in January 2009 in the role of systems sales manager with responsibility for further developing our systems installation division, NW Security. Over the years, Richard has built up a huge amount of knowledge and experience delivering both small and complex solutions on IP platforms.

Ian Rigby, Internal sales manager

After completing A-Levels in ICT and Media Studies in 2005, Ian joined BT as an LLU Service Professional processing orders for BT's customers such as Sky and Opal Telecom. The position enhanced Ian's understanding of networking principles and managing customer expectations.

Ian joined NW Systems Group in 2007 as a Technical Sales Assistant in which role he excelled as a customer-focussed, service driven professional with wide ranging technical product knowledge. During this short space of time Ian's talents made him a key executive within the sales team and he was promoted to Internal Sales Manager in September 2010. Ian is now responsible for the success of our UK, EU and US internal sales team.

Andrew Pollok, Lead Programmer/Developer

A graduate from both Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt in Computer Science and Electronics BEng(Hons) and Strategic Project Management MSc respectively, Andrew has a background in web development, network programming and embedded applications. He joined NW in spring 2010 and with an ever-widening skillset has taken well to leading the development within our technical development team. Originally from Aberdeenshire, currently living in Edinburgh, Andrew is responsible for overseeing and driving the further development of our web applications.
