RemoteManager webcam system installed for the surveillance of a £3million technology block build for the College of West Anglia.

After winning a £1.5 million grant the College of West Anglia have been given the go ahead to start the construction of its new £3 million technology block. With purpose-built workshops, classrooms and practical training facilities the new building is designed over two floors with a total area of 1,160 Square metres.

With such a large extension the college were keen to document the build and contacted us for a suitable solution. We recommended our RemoteManager webcam system, in order for the college to monitor the progress remotely and build an image archive of the construction. A 3G connection was provided as the site sat too far away from the connection already in place. This will allow for footage of the build to be distributed online for students and parents wishing to see the development. RemoteManager will also create a time-lapse film of the project.

Work began this month and is due to finish next summer when the system may then be moved to cover the demolition of an adjacent tower block.

High resolution Mobotix cameras for Tesco and B&Q warehouse builds through Gazeley and NW Systems Group.

High resolution Mobotix cameras for Tesco and B&Q warehouse builds.

Gazeley UK is part of Economic Zones World (EZW), a worldwide developer of warehouse and distribution space with over 60 million sq ft (6 million sq m) of created logistical parks around the globe.

For management to monitor the builds and to give its customers access to the progress of the development, Gazeley instructed NW to implement a series of network cameras on both sites which can be accessed and viewed remotely using NW’s RemoteManager web-based interface. NW selected high resolution Mobotix cameras which provide great detail of these large scale developments. Hardwiring on such huge sites is a challenge, which is why wireless equipment and 3G connections have been deployed to deliver images from the cameras to the client’s desk top.

For more information about Gazeley UK or the projects mentioned, please visit www.gazeley.com.
