NW Systems enables IP-surveillance for Barrington Sports

Independent sports retailer Barrington Sports upgrades to Sony IP-based surveillance as they move into larger premises.

Specialist sports retailer Barrington Sports have been trading for 30 years. Recently, their head office moved to a new 25,000 square foot building.

As part of the expansion plans, Barrington Sports wanted to improve its building security and decided to do away with their existing analogue-based CCTV system and replace it with an IP camera solution that would offer improved quality and accessibility. As specialists in this field, we advised Barrington to use a combination of Sony HD network cameras with Milestone XProtect recording software for easy system management.

Providing a complete solution, NW extended the network infrastructure and installed PoE-enabled cameras at the most effective vantage points across the premises, indoors as well as outdoors. To provide an active 24/7 CCTV solution, infrared cameras were used for viewing at night, whilst advanced video motion detection enables managers to receive alerts on their smartphones whenever any untoward activity is happening.

To make it all easier, Barrington managers are able to access their new CCTV system from home or on the go via any mobile device, tablet, PC or Mac. The recently launched, updated Milestone web client and mobile apps are making it a doddle for anybody to use their camera system.
