Facing uneconomical update requirements to their analogue CCTV system, Coombe Girls’ School decided that moving to a network-based CCTV solution would better suit their needs.
The school approached us with a clear brief to deliver:
The school chose us from a number of competitive solutions to utilise our strength and expertise with IP video technology, and in particular our experience and track-record in delivering similar IP-based solutions within the education sector. As one of only a few IP video specialists, we were also able to offer SSAIB certification, ensuring that the installation would meet the BS EN 50132 standard for CCTV installation.
To meet the school’s safeguarding requirements, Arecont 8 megapixel cameras were installed to provide much extended 360° coverage of the school grounds, whilst a combination of Sony HD cameras were implemented onto the network for delivering high-detail images of more specfic areas. Using Milestone XProtect video management software as the preferred platform, authorised school staff are now able to manage the new system from their PCs on the network with immediate access to footage whenever it is required.
Being network and software based, the school’s IT manager is fully in control of the system and can handle support issues in-house and choose to add cameras when the need arises. And there is no need for a traditional, expensive maintenance agreement… we just provide back-up support when needed.
Coombe Girl’s School is rated by Ofsted as grade 1 outstanding and is located in New Malden, Surrey. Visit their website here.
