DD Jewellers improves security
DD Jewellers in Birmingham, UK, choose a high definition IP-based video system to replace their analogue CCTV.
Birmingham-based DD Jewelers commissioned NW Systems to implement a fourteen camera surveillance system to improve in-store security. A mixture of Axis and Sony HD network cameras were installed after Birmingham Council approved the scheme for a grant allowance.
With the ability to capture highly detailed images and record up to 31 days of footage through Milestone XP Essential recording software, the system is much better suited to identify individuals visiting the store. NW designed the system based around the store’s requirements and completed the installation with minimal disruption to the business.
With many jewellery items of high value on display, the store is a conspicuous target for criminals. The new IP camera setup replaces an analogue system that restricted the flexibility of monitoring and overall quality of footage.
With the new cameras capable of providing clear HD footage, managers are now able to monitor activity around the premises in much higher detail, whilst the footage can be accessed remotely by owners and managers 24 hour a day.
